Improved Tarsacci for 2025

Post by JCR »

A member of DP forum received an answer from Dimitar inquiring about new developments for the MDT. Dimitar stated that new features & improvements have been made, to include; Selectable audio tone sets, independent volume for AM channel in Mixed mode, Salt balance range increased to 60 points. Also an added 4 kHz frequency choice and improved stability & depth.
I certainly would like to have these much needed features on my current Tarsacci MDT 8000. I am hoping Dimitar will be open to allowing current units to be upgraded on a customer pay basis. This would be the best way to breath new life into this unique platform. I see it being very difficult to generate much interest otherwise given the advancements in top of the line SMF units & emerging affordable PIs with new adaptabilities to relic & coin hunting.

Chris......... the Tarsacci is in a league of its own. It directly competes with SMF.......and (in some cases) surpasses SMF. Especially in medium & bad dirt.

I am WAY overdue for a phone-con with Dimitar. And....... I'll be booked-out for a couple of weeks. I should have plenty of time after that.

NASA Tom, If you will recall, I have the MDT 8000 and have run it in bad soil (Maghemite) relic sites since August 2021. These new features and improvements will go a long way toward addressing the shortcomings of the original, particularly the tones & Mixed mode volume balance. While the original Tarsacci is an impressive machine in bad dirt, and has amazed me on many occasions, it is not without close peers given the latest flagship detectors available today. While I still use mine on occasion, my Rutus Versa will hunt circles around it on a typical relic site with iron, giving as good or better depth and accurate ID.(Don’t laugh, the latest Legend software will too). I’m sure the current Manticore and D2 would also. Algoforce PI units & the upcoming PIs from Nokta are changing that horizon also. The “new” Tarsacci will need to offer a significant advantage to revive sales. I hope Dimitar is open to customer paid upgrades of original models to create some excitement & exposure to kickstart sales. Please let us know after you have spoken with Dimitar.

Chris........ sounds like you've got some serious time under your belt now..... with the MDT and other units.
I will certainly keep you in-the-loop......once I talk to Dimitar. Let's hope there are some good surprises in the near future!

I had the pleasure with having a phone conversation with Dimitar several weeks back, actually ordered the new model but unfortunately cancelled the order shortly after due an unexpected health issue. For the time being, I'll wait and see how test results are in the coming months ahead. If all is good, I'll place another order definitely want to get my hands on the new model.

Only live 100 miles from Dimitar, would be great to see him again.
