Red numbers = good targets

Post by stateguy »

Too get it out of the way. I use Tom Dankowski settings in all metal. I am not type to play around with different modes because it takes me a long time to comprehend them.
So I was doing shallow water hunting about thigh deep in saltwater. Sensitivity at 21-22
I got at least two targets in the red. high 90 and then drop to 15 and one was a silver dime other was silver quarter. The reason why I dug it was I saw a faint dot on the line all the way to the right
Another target that was a red 8 and showing up all the way bottom left corner and was a gold ring.
Is it that I am hunting in prospect mode and beach low conductor causing me to get those red numbers at times. The targets were about 8 in. Deep
I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. Is there another program I should use that anyone willing to share

If your sand is magnetic...... you will acquire these results. The detector is contending with wet-salt AND magnetic sand.
What Mode are you in? Beach - General?

Ok. It REALLY sounds like you are detecting in magnetic sand (and saltwater). Your results are normal...... for this type of environment.
