David....... very good thought-process. My comments/thoughts:
Whites does this....... and graphically shows this on their spectrograph.
XP D1 ....and especially D2 does this via algorithms ......which........in turn........ helps generate the target ID.
Same with EQX and Manticore. In fact....... Manticore (behind the scenes) does this.....and takes the data to (yet) another step..... for more proper Target ID and increases ID reliability.......to include: in the iron......during/with co-locate.
