Re: MINELAB MANTICORE: DATA & PERFORMANCE

I know that I have discussed/posted "similar topic" before; yet, the following is worth reiteration:
Manticore (EQX & XP Deus/II)
1901 church. 90' X 75' front lawn.
Education/Quest = Recovery Speed ...............Real-World performance: Proof.
With Recovery Speed on '4'......... hunt this 90' X 75' front lawn....... until totally satisfied that no more coins left...to be found. =
17 coins found.
Now hunt the exact same property......with exactly the same settings......... except Recovery Speed on '2'.=
11 more coins found.
Thoughts/Summary =
Yes..............most of the additional 11 coins found....were deeper. (and older).
Knowing this would happen........ I was still (somewhat) startled when I would find/detect another coin.
Sooooooo........ with each/every one of these 11 additional coins........ I HAD to switch back to Recovery Speed '4'......... just to see WHY they were missed. Nutshell: 9 (of the 11) coins were missed.... in Speed 4.... because the coins were (just barely) too deep. The remainder 2 coins COULD be detected in Recovery Speed 4; yet, the coil approach angle-of-attack was rather critical........and...... these two coins....were quite weak in signal-strength......with the exact/correct coil angle-of-attack. ANY interference....... and they were undetectable.
Moral of the story:
1. DEPTH is critical!!!
2. Enhanced adjacent target separation is critical!!!
Also.................................... I hunted Recovery Speed 4 FIRST....this time................................. because the last several time I performed this exact test...... I always used Speed '2' first.
It does not matter WHICH speed you hunt in....first. Just as long as you hunt the site (eventually) .... using BOTH speeds.
Note = Some dirt is SO magnetic (mineralized)...... that the EQX/Deus/Manticore will not let you hunt the bad dirt.... in slower recovery speeds.
