Manticore

Post by Rick, N. MI »

Trying out the new forum.

I'm thinking about getting the Manticore this spring. Would like to get it with the 6x8 coil only.

One of the reasons I'm liking the Manticore is for iron relics including small iron relics. I'm not sure if the Deus 2 would hit on small iron relics. I'm doubting it. I live in northern MI. and it's not the best place for detecting for old coins but I do get some. I enjoy digging iron relics. I do have a lot of lakes though included Lake Michigan & Lake Huron. Still the gold count is low being in north. It's still fun to hunt in the lakes though.

I saw a video where the Manticore was partially hitting on small iron relics. I haven't seen any newer detectors that can do that without lowering disc or hunting in all metal.

I do have some older detectors that do hit dimes at 10" and do hit very well small iron relics. So it's be seen if the Manticore would do as well on the small iron. It would be great in lakes.

I don't have a Manticore but would like to. The great lakes sounds like a cool place to detect. Good luck and keep us posted!

The Manti comes with the 11" coil. The 6 x 8 is optional if you can find one. If you are getting a Manti, better start looking for the small coil now.

I just recently took delivery on a Manticore, haven't even put it together or turned it on yet. All I can say so far is that the telescoping shaft is a very welcome feature.
