Hi all, just received my M8 coil after 3 month delivery service,to remote country I detect...
Has someone got the latest settings please(M8) for high salt medium black sand, only in the water 1m deep..calm water
I have progressed to 22 sensitivity, running LOW CONDUCTORS with the 11 inch coil,it's taken me 800 hours to get there..thanks mike

Mike....... I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for.... but I will answer Manticore, wet-salt with black sand.

Try:
Beach - Low Conductors (keeping in mind....the black sand may make this hyper-Mode: difficult)
Recovery Speed = 4
Ferrous Limits - Upper/Lower = 5/3
Audio Theme = Prospecting
Nothing Notched out
No Custom Programs
Volume = 25
Iron Volume = 25
Ground Balance the unit in about 1" of water.......where the coil/detector can see/calibrate/compensate for saltwater AND black sand!
Then see how high you can run/tolerate Sensitivity. I'm hoping you can run (around) 24.

Thanks Tom,I was just checking. For any operating changes in the past year..I am re- reading the original comments from early last year about the M8...
For 7 months I struggled to run LOW CONDUCTORS in the extreem SALT+BLACK sand..,but when you know that testing shows LC more hot on small gold,my main aim..then you make it work, filtering with your brain aswell..
..any target over 2g ,is easy to detect with most salt water machines ...
Hopefully the M8 will take it to a new level, seeing clearer though the black sand..to the micro jewellery ,which I believe
Each beach has 1000s...

Micro-jewelry is NEVER touched/cleaned-up; subsequently....... it keeps stacking/piling up. The Manticore.....coupled with the M8 coil.......is....... for the first time in history . , . , . , . , . , . just STARTING to 'touch' the micro-jewelry.
My concern for you is......your black sand that INHIBITS you from running Sens into the micro-jewelry Sens range!

Ok,I managed to run 25 sensitivity in LC..but I see a guy recommended not running ALL METAL,in moderate black sand, which I have never done in past 6 yesrs...
If I turn all metal off,I can run 27 sens..
What would be the disadvantages? Would I lose deep micro targets..that are close to iron range (1,2)..
for this week I will test every signal in both ALL METAL an DISCRIMINATION......THANKS MIKE..

Mike.......
Turning Iron "OFF" ..... you get a false-sense-of-stability. The unit still struggles with... black-sand-iron (and salt) content. , . , . , . now....you just can't hear this struggle if iron is disc'd out. It is always best to know what the detector is struggling with...... allowing you to concentrate better on coil stability & coil sweep-speed.
And: Yes! You DO add the additional risk of losing the very low conductors.......which is the very thing/premise of what you are looking for!!!..... (ie: small gold jewelry)...............................when you discriminate out the iron range. No......... small gold jewelry does not read/ID in the iron range.,.,.,.,.,., but....with black sand, salt, minerals and especially a 'weak signal-strength'.......small gold jewelry will want to (ID & audibly) "bounce" in-and-out of the iron range. If you pass over a weak signal-strength piece of gold...on your initial pass...........and the target ID's as 'iron'.,.,.,.,.,.,., you would never even hear a target (assuming iron is Disc'd out).........therefore, you would never even give the target a second or third pass (2nd or 3rd chance) to ID as a non-ferrous target.,.,.,.,.,., and the target would go: "missed".

I'm not sure I'm making sense!

Your making perfect sense,it's just I've run ALL METAL for so long I forgot why...I'll return to my previous settings with sens on 25,this is probably adequate, imbyet to do in water testing with the M8,as itsvto cold an I'm only getting 4 hours before I turn to ice..heresvsome micro goldvfrom past 7 days with M8.

You're DOING IT!!! SUCCESS!!!!
Do NOT feel ANY bit handicapped with that smaller M8 coil.

every day I'm also getting 3 or 4 ,0.5g silver studs or hoops..an today a 1g fine silver bracelet..
The thing is with the M8 it's hitting hard on micro gold, where the equinox would be a soft sound,
The sound seems amplified in prospecting...

This is stunning! Time to quit your real job!!!!

The thing is...... the EQX will not hit on micro-gold; yet, the Manticore (with M8) will. In an air-test; yes, the EQX will detect many of the targets; yet, it needs to happen in the real-World.

LOVE your success!!!! (And the photos)!
