Not sure what you mean. You already CAN program the most wildest program(s) into Manticore....... if you so choose.
AND........ "Custom" programs are for "Custom" people. In other words......... a custom program is very 'personal'......whereby........others may not be as interested in a specific program.
Am I understanding you correctly?

Basically allow few custom slots in disc menu like Manticore currently offers for Upper and Low Ferrous Limits - Custom 1-4.

1. Be nice to have 1 Factory custom preset per mode.
And multiples of user custom presets (per mode). How many? 3-4 would suffice.

2. If these user custom presets (per mode) can’t be done. At least a global set of user custom presets for disc where user can select from using any mode. Suggest at least 4 custom global slots. Much like how the custom 1-4 works currently with upper and lower ferrous limits.

3. Naturally I would expect if machine was reset, all the custom preset disc info if previously entered would be defaulted to whatever - (suggest open screen).

I just try to suggest things that make detectors more user friendly.
I’ll bring this up here.

What period in seconds (or cycles of channels) defines a good long press noise cancel with Manticore? For emi mitigation.
Whatever the answer is.
It would be nice if a long press noise cancel option was available for selecting.
Meaning if selected a user could just press and release and long press duration fixed duration time wise noise cancel would take place.
I am editing here to add- Minelab could offer 1, 2 or 3 timeframe options (or cycles) for long press noise cancel.
If a user didn’t have this option selected and wanted to do an even longer duration noise cancel they could.
If option not selected Manticore would behave like it does now with touching noise cancel button and releasing quick.
Just a thought. No more for the most part having to hold a button. Just engage button and release and let the detector do its thing while user holds coil still. Hmm
Again if this is not possible with Manticore, Minelab should consider for future flagship models if indeed a long sequence time wise period noise cancel can/ will yield better performance.

First........ You CAN make "Noise Cancel" a "Hot Key" (or: "Hot Button") on Manticore. I have this/my soft-key on the lower Right corner of faceplate (with according button directly under the faceplate icon).

Your real question: Because there is/are infinite amounts & types of EMI............. the time you "LONG PRESS" will vary. . . . . . . . from site-to-site. There will never be a "standard-length time" for Long Press Noise Cancel. (((This has to do with low-PRF/high-PRF EMI sources))). We are indeed working on next-Gen EMI mitigation.......and I do not want to forfeit/compromise current/future technology.

BUT,........ How long SHOULD you hold "LONG PRESS". This is actually a fairly easy question to answer =

Press (and hold) LONG PRESS feature. Watch the faceplate. You will see several Noise Cancel channels cycle through.
Then.....you will see the unit narrow down to just 2 or 3 Noise Cancel channels........and bounce between these 2 or 3 channels.
Then........(this is where things get important): if the unit 'locks-on' to one particular Noise Cancel channel for 4 complete cyclings whilst continuing the Long Press.............this is most-probably going to be the best N.C. channel the unit can present.
Is this the most/best Noise Cancel channel? = Yes.......most-probably.
Is this the best EMI mitigation? = No. (((Future technology awaits!)))

Does the SENSITIVITY LEVEL used at time of long press noise cancel process drive the outcome of what the detector selects for channel?

Tom I was wondering what would be your settings in the saltwater in shallow water that you can still get chains and earring
I have been using your beach setting on the wet sand and in the water with some good success. But when there a lot of other metals I can’t tell the difference on what it is.
I think I need a shallow water program that has tones in it and be comparable to your wet sand program and be a sensitive as possible
