Your'e talking about rating detectors within one manufacturer.

First....... It would take a little time/labor/effort/manpower for a corporate entity to do this. (But do'able).
Secondly....... There would have to be a standardized standard for mineralization level comparison. (This variable could easily be subjective).
Thirdly......... Nearly all beginners would not understand what mineralization even was....and how it hinders detector performance. Even seasoned detectorists may/would not fully comprehend magnetite, hematite (and the like) measurement-strength levels.........or.........that they would even have it...in their locale.

I'm not saying this type of data could not be presented; yet, it would take some 'variables: controlled'.........and some wordsmithing to achieve said goal.

I watched the video... here I want to say ..one thing..sometimes it is difficult to compare CTX and Manticore... for example price vs. options... because they are generationally different detectors.. with a different type of multifrequency.. and also the idea of the manufacturer,,what this detector should do in practice...
15 years ago when CTX was released, there were different preferences for what a detector should do in practical detection, what goals it should..correctly detect like that and what it should effectively discriminate..

Furthermore, how it should work on different types of terrain...
Manticore as a technologically much newer detector should naturally have greater possibilities of working in certain types of terrain and in certain detection situations....

Here it must be said that on certain types of terrain the differences between the detectors may not be visible,, and on another type of terrain they can be really significant for one or the other detector...

Last week we tested with a colleague manticore and other detectors with a colleague on the test field with modern coins...
the range limit for manticore and other detectors was a depth of 20 cm for a 10 euro cent coin and a depth of 30 cm for a 50 euro cent coin..
.
On the test field with old coins, Manticore 11"coil.. and other most modern detectors did not detect a relatively large Roman highly conductive sestertius coin at a depth of 40cm..

just to add .. Roman silver denarius at a depth of 30cm and 35cm is also undetectable..

now,,,The deepest coin of this type Sestertius is stored on this test field at a depth of 40,,45 a 47,and 50cm... and the deepest one can be detected by certain detectors with a certain coil.. assuming that the condition of the terrain allows it.. it does not always have to be...

The test field with old coins ... is one of the very old more than 2000 years of civilization, specifically conductive terrain... which reduces the range of many good top detectors..

So we do tests twice a year so that we compared the technically best detectors in this field..

The price of the detector... here is determined by the manufacturer rather than the detector class... and here both CTX and Manticore belong to the high class..

I'm a little confused. Did you say that the Manticore .....did......... or: did not........ detect the large, highly conductive Sestertius coin...... at the various/different/increasing depths?
Could the CTX-3030 detect this coin..... at the various/increasing depths?

Manticore on 11 "coil ... could not detect sestertius even at a depth of 40 cm .... we tried and changed different programs ... but no result ... this conductive terrain is very specific ..

A This test field is several years old and is quite extensive ... it also contains deposit targets at various depths ...

We tested CTX on this terrain years ago, and also ETRAC and Equinox 800 .. on Roman AS and 50 eurocent at a depth of 32 cm in this terrain ... . but these detectors on this terrain ... lose range ...

Of the Minelab detectors ... Only Etrac on 13 " on the Ultimate coil was able to give a partially good signal on a 50 eurocent at a depth of 32 cm in tests ... but not on a Roman AS coin at the same depth of 32 cm.
..It definitely surprised us all....

This winter I will bring the CTX there on a standard and larger coil...and test it again.. My colleague has a Mantocore so we will test these detectors against each other...

Small correction.... the surface sestertius is placed at a depth of 40 cm....not at a depth of 30 cm...but that doesn't change the fact that it is undetectable...for both CTX and Manticore..

For the sake of overview, I am giving a description of the complete "Old test field" :
blue area... a bronze bowl at a depth of 110 cm and then there are Roman sestertius and Roman denarius coins at different depths..

green area... 2 x control targets of Coca Cola cans at 87cm and 100 cm, then a lead 8cm disk at a depth of 60 cm and then depots 10cm diameter ceramic containers with bronze targets placed at different depths..

red area - contains 5 iron targets placed at different depths.. serves to compare the quality of detector discrimination..

Is this test field very demanding?... yes..but that's about it here goes...

It is your mineralization that has me very much interested in your resultant.

So far....... it sounds like ONLY the E-Trac with 13" coil .... will (somewhat) present some success.

Have you ever tried a Tarsacci MDT on any/all of those targets? It might present the 'startle' factor that you seek.

Yes Tarsacci,, would be a good detector for testing.. especially for such conductive and complicated terrain...

So far, the first place in target range is held by the dual-frequency detector AKA Intronik STF on a 2khz/14khz coil.. on coils 13", 15" and 18"..we tried all three sizes.. the best results are on program 3.-Deep, and program 5- Deep Z..

We also tried the 13" 5khz/40khz coil and the 9x12" 7khz/60khz coil.. yes, some targets come out well..but they are not the best for this type of terrain of the test field..

The best coil for this test field is clearly the coil with frequencies 2khz/14khz..

The second best detector is the Detech Relic Striker-working at 4.8 khz.. on the SEF 15x18" coil.. it detects a reasonable number of targets..

I will post some video when we tested the Equinox 800 in winter :

Looks like: LOWER FREQUENCIES is what works best in your dirt conditions.
BUT....... I thought Beach Mode-2 would have performed better...in your dirt conditions.......due to its lower Freq's & less mineralization blowback/flyback.

It is interesting to see how 'hot' your dirt is. It can be seen/witnessed....when you are swinging the coil NOT over any target........ but on free/clear ground.

El Nino, Thanks for posting this. Very informative and interesting. NASA Tom's suggestion of the Tarsacci MDT would be very enlightening. If Rutus had a large coil for the Versa, I suspect it would do well in Field Dual mode. The Versa's static mode with tone ID should do well on the deep Cache deposits.
