Rutus Versa on Mineralized test bed

Post by JCR »

I never thought I would do YouTube but here it is. A video I made on the new NC 3.7 update. Others have shown better videos but there is not much information out there on the special considerations that need to be taken for improved detector performance in mineralized soil conditions. This was made to show the benefit of the Versa's Hot Rock adjustment & overall performance. https://youtu.be/EibsAtVOT5g?feature=shared

Chris, keep the videos coming. You're right in there's very little out there to watch or read about on the Versa unless you understand Polish. After watching Iffy Signals latest videos I emailed Mike and he says it may sound crazy but he hasn't picked up his D2 since dialing in the Versa. There's a gentleman who's just started posting videos of the Versa park hunting and there's no doubt the machine is fast.

I really have no way to compare it to anything but my sandy sites. Depending on the ground's moisture content, the test bed will read 3-4 bars on the Legend's mineral scale, 3 out of 4 on the F5 & 4 out of 5 on the Anfibio. I have actual hunting sites that are worse because the man made iron is so broken down the ground is "rusty" in addition to the still solid nail bits & larger pieces. I have "test" coins placed on these sites @6". They are very challenging targets. If all I had was nice dirt, a lot of targets would have already been found by others before me. I also would not have learned to adapt to conditions, nor purchased the Vista X, Tarsacci MDT 8000 or the Rutus Versa. It is a good thing I like fooling around with detectors or it would be slim pickings in these conditions. So, overall, I'm kind of fond of my red dirt.

His channel is @davidbecker4674. Got the Rutus Versa in today and man it's killer in the iron. I've had the Manticore very recently and still have the Legend and Deus 2 and the Versa is looking like my new goto machine.

Glad it has arrived & you have had a little time with it. You are going to be in a good position to give some experience based perspective on how the different flagship detectors not only compare, but compliment each other. I hope you will share your observations & thoughts. It will help everyone learn no matter which machine they use.
