It has been about five years since Thomas has presented a training video. In the Test Garden, Thomas covers the topics of Masking and Silent Masking, Multiple Targets, Coins on Edge, Coil Sweep Speed and Depth of Targets more thoroughly in this video than in his previous video presentation. Thomas also thoroughly covers the topics of Complex Targets (good targets surrounded by trash), Ground Balance, Iron Falsing and Sweep Techniques. Thomas covers each subject in detail and explains the criteria he uses in determining which targets to dig and which targets to pass up and leave in the ground.
From the Test Garden, Thomas takes us on a real world hunt out in the field. Unpredictable situations encountered in the real world takes knowledge learned in the Test Garden and applies it to real world conditions. As Thomas stated, “The Test Garden is a good, sanitized, textbook environment for learning the basics of metal detecting, but I feel that this knowledge has to be demonstrated and applied in the real world to really get the most from the learning experience”.
